Abington Baptist Church was born in 1962 when the Tioga Baptist Church of Philadelphia and Jenkintown Baptist Church merged their congregations. Located on a residential street in Abington, the church has been vitally involved in Christian Education, worship, and mission outreach in the beautiful facility that was built here. Our pastor, the Rev. Charles Chapman, and his wife, Grace, have served the Lord overseas as well as in the Delaware Valley. We have a strong music program, with a 15-20 voice choir, a bell choir (youth and adults play in it), and youth play instruments during the hymns as well as special numbers. Our youth go on several trips each year, including a free week at a Baptist camp in the summer.

We host the Happy R Wee Day Care and "High Five!" after school program, the American Red Cross, and the Abington Oratorio Choir. We are part of the historic, 300 year old Philadelphia Baptist Association, as well as the American Baptist Churches, through whom we are supporting five missionary families on four continents. We help support Baptist Children's Services, as well as the Cornerstone Christian Academy in West Philadelphia, an outstanding school started by Tony Campolo. Every other month we prepare and serve hot meals for up to 100 homeless in Philadelphia. We continue the legacy of worship and serving others in Christ's love.
